Tupperware is one of the most popular houseware brands in the world today so it is not surprising that fake versions of this popular brand abound, especially online. If you want to make sure you are buying the real thing, read on.
How to Spot Real vs Fake Tupperware
No logo and product number
Tupperware items have the trademark logo and product number stamped at the bottom of each container. This is one of the easiest ways to know that you have a genuine product on your hands. The genuine logo is raised, not merely stamped or printed on the surface.
Texture, build and quality
Tupperware products online are known for their solid build and flexible covers. The containers are also designed for easy opening and closing while providing a good seal. For example, pressing down on a Tupperware lid gives that satisfying pop that tells you that the lid has locked down in place. A fake container may require a few strong pushes downward to get the cover to lock in place. Most fake containers also do not lock as securely as their real counterparts. Tupperware products are scratch-resistant with surfaces that are designed for an easy grip. This kind of attention to detail is often absent in cheaper imitations.
Sold on third party websites
Tupperware is a direct selling brand which means that its products are only sold through its distributors. Third-party stores selling general merchandise aren’t likely selling the real thing unless they can show a Tupperware certificate authorizing them as official distributors in your area. Without this, you have no guarantee that you are buying the real thing.
Importance of Spotting Fakes
For people who take food storage seriously, using the right product can mean the difference between spoilage and keeping food fresh. Having the genuine item also means that you are protected by Tupperware warranty, which includes replacements for spare parts and accessories when these become damaged or missing. To make sure that you are getting the real deal, only buy from authorized distributors. Tupperware is sold virtually anywhere in the world so finding an authorized dealer will not be that hard to do. You can also buy straight from Tupperware’s website to ensure that you get the real thing and the warranties that come with it.
Don’t scrimp on quality food storage. Choose your sellers wisely and when in doubt, deal with Tupperware directly by buying Tupperware products online. This way you can enjoy great food storage pieces that are well worth every penny.
