CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) is a certification that primarily focuses on technical business analysis and requirements gathering. CBAPs are professionals who have proven their ability to lead business analysis efforts of medium-baseline effort, complexity, and risk by delivering business value through information technology solutions.
The CBAP certification requires an individual to have demonstrated the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
● Business analysis experience
● Technical aspects of business analysis
● An understanding of agile practices
● Tools for creating working documents such as process flows, use cases, wireframes, etc.
A CBAP certification is valid for life. Therefore, you do not need to recertify to maintain your CBAP credential. However, you must meet the CBAP eligibility criteria each year to confirm that you are maintaining the qualifications you were certified.
You need to accumulate 100 PDUs (Professional Development Units) in the three years preceding your certification expiration date to recertify. These points are accrued by attending industry conferences, workshops, seminars, etc. In addition, CBAP Certification exams are offered multiple times a year in cities all over the world. You do not have to take the exam at an approved Pearson Vue testing center close to where you live or work; however, there is a cost involved with traveling for the test. If you choose not to take your exam within three years of your certification expiration date, you will be required to retake the full CBAP examination and meet current CBAP eligibility criteria.
Benefits of CBAP Certification:
