In the event that there is no continuous monitoring by personnel, a transmission system must be provided to the receiving stations whose connection is kept constantly under control. The equipment must have the appropriate components for the environment in which they operate. The acoustic signals must be recognizable, not confused with others and must have an acoustic level between 65 and 120 dB as shown in Firefighter Tests.
In rooms with dormant occupants the level must be 75 dB at the head of the bed. Voice alarm and evacuation systems can be used for fire alarm signaling. It will have to identify if the alarm comes from automatic detectors or manual alarms and must be obligatory in accordance with the standards (EN 54.2).
Acoustic and light alarm devices. The alarm devices are divided into acoustic and luminous components that can be perceived in the vicinity of the power plant itself, acoustic and luminous components distributed inside or outside the supervised area and alarm components located in receiving stations as shown in Firefighter Tests.
The first and the second are always mandatory, the last ones are not. These devices can be used together or in place of sound devices. These devices must comply with the standards (EN 54-16 and 24). All fire alarm systems must avoid the risk of panic.
Manual buttons must be reachable from any point with a path no greater than 30 or 15 meters, in environments with a high risk of fire. Their positioning must be between 1 and 1.6 meters high as shown in Firefighter Tests.
Distribution lines
The conductors must be fire resistant for at least 30 minutes, with low smoke emission and zero halogens (EN 50200 PH30). The path of a loop must be made so that only one branch can be damaged. Also EN 54-14 provides flame resistant cables for 30 minutes. Recommend a minimum distance of at least 30 centimeters compared to cables of other systems as shown in Firefighter Tests.
Recommend the use of cables that have distinctive colors compared to those of other systems. Wireless devices can be connected to the fire detection station, in compliance with the standard (EN 54-25). These must also comply with the specific product standard (EN 54). Cable connections between translators and central must have the same characteristics as those seen for normal connections. All the security systems we use can be managed and verified remotely via PC, smartphone, tablet.
It will nevertheless be necessary to double the door because you may have bad insulation. Usually used on chalets with wooden siding or eco-construction the wood allows good insulation and stability. It will still need to maintain regularly for better efficiency.
