• Barracuda Lake

This diving location is on Coron Island. There is a lake situated in a volcanic crater that simultaneously has salt and fresh water. Its name is derived from a huge barracuda skeleton that was found in its waters.

• Coron Bay

Situated on the northern end of Palawan, Coron is recognized for having the most glorious shipwrecks in all of Southeast Asia. Several Japanese ships sunk in the Coron Bay in the Second World War. It is the perfect destination for history buffs and self-proclaimed explorers of the ocean.

The ideal time to explore Coron Bay is from December to March as visibility can go to the depth of 50 feet. Similar to various premier El Nido diving spots, the three reefs or Tres Marias, as they are referred to by the locals, are situated between the two islands and encircled by shallow waters. It is ideal for beginner divers and snorkelers.

Just a few feet underwater, you can delight in the spectacle of vibrant corals, painted crayfish and an abundance of reef fish. If you are fortunate enough, you might even see whale sharks during the months of October, November and December.

• Tubbataha Reef Natural Park

This destination is catigorized among the top diving locations in Palawan near El Nido and Coron Island. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it boasts over 97,000 hectares of land and water. There are 100 bird species, over 360 species of coral, 600 species of fish and roughly 12 dolphin and species of shark. The best months to dive is from March to June and access is exclusively via a liveaboard diving vessel.
