Sydney is, to say the least, a beautiful city. While there’s so much to see and do during the day here, there’s a side of Sydney that comes alive after dark. Even so, it is easy to get mesmerized by the bright lights and starry skies, enough to throw caution to the wind and get into an unfortunate situation that ruins your experience.
So, how do you make sure that you end your night tour happily and safely in Sydney after dark tours ? Here are a few pointers to basic rules you should keep in mind during your tour.
Be Part Of the Group
It is easy to want to stop and take pictures of buildings, take selfies or simply pause to admire something along the way. This leaves you vulnerable and at risk of getting lost, especially when you are walking as a small group. If you really have to stop, you’d rather ask your colleagues to wait for you instead of letting them get too far away from you. Staying close to your tour guide or other group members is another good way of ensuring you do not get lost in the crowd of locals crisscrossing the streets.
Stay Safe
Sydney is a relatively safe place to be in. However, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be watchful of who is trying to get too close to you or who is trying to touch you inappropriately. Areas of concern include bathrooms, ATM stops, and other poorly lit, secluded areas. Locals can easily tell visitors apart from other people. If you are caught standing alone or for too long in some of these isolated areas, you make yourself an easy prey. You can easily get mugged, attacked or assaulted.
Carry Your Own Snacks
Night tours come with a lot of walking and sometimes running. So, that you ate when you left your hotel may not be enough. Usually, there are only a couple of short breaks scheduled to take place during the course of the tour. Between going to the bathroom and freshening up, you may be left with barely enough time to buy something to eat. So, to be on the safe side, bring your own snacks to munch on without necessarily having to interrupt your tour.
It is important to bear in mind that touring at night is very different from day tours. For instance, you can see better during daytime but not so much at night. So, to stay safe and to have the most amazing Sydney after dark tours, follow the above-highlighted tips.
