Quick And Easy Honey Garlic Pork Chops

The very thought of honey garlic pork chops probably has your mouth watering. The good news is that the recipe requires only a few key ingredients, and is quick and easy to cook. While there are some modifications and changes people may make to customize the recipe to suit their tastes, the basic steps remain the same.

Bone in or Boneless

This may seem like a fairly easy choice, but it requires a little thought as the bone in pork chops add more flavor to the sauce. Season the pork chops with salt, pepper and some garlic powder, and set them away while you heat some oil in a skillet. Sear the pork chops until they have a nice golden color and are well done. Remove from the skillet and transfer to a plate.

Get Saucy

Lower the heat and add some butter to the skillet. Mix together honey, water, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper in a bowl. You can replace the water with chicken broth, and also add some red chili flakes to taste. Sauté six to eight finely minced cloves of garlic in the heated butter. Garlic burns easily, so do be careful with it. Pour in the honey mix and stir well. Increase the heat to medium and cook for about three to four minutes until the sauce thickens.
Put the pork chops back into the pan and generously coat with honey garlic sauce. Cook for few minutes and remove the skillet from the heat. Serve the honey garlic pork chops on a bed of rice with a serving of salad or vegetables. You could also enjoy them with pasta or bread.

Bake It

You can also sear the pork chops in a preheated oven. While they cook, get ready to prepare the honey garlic sauce. Pour the sauce over the pork chops and bake for about ten to fifteen minutes. You may wish to grill the pork chops a little to enjoy that delicious caramelized flavor.
This recipe if easy to make and requires very little preparation. All you will need are the main ingredients, the pork chops, honey and garlic. Some cooks like to make the honey garlic sauce with a bit of a twist. They use ketchup and a little soy sauce in the honey mix for the sauce. If you do not have any apple cider vinegar you can use white vinegar or rice wine vinegar instead.
