- Garrick Street Hotel – this club has been around since 1926 and hosts everything from comedy nights to karaoke sessions and live bands every weekend night at their outdoor beer garden bar! Drinks start at under $12 each, so it can be an affordable way to spend your evening out in Canberra with friends over drinks rather than paying cover charges.
- The Basement – can be found in the city center of Canberra on East Row, just off Northbourne Avenue. It is a live music venue that has been around for over 20 years and can hold up to 300 people at one time!
- Transit Bar — this bar can also be found in the city center of Canberra along with its sister club, Alibi (which only opened in June 2016). It’s a great place to listen to local bands play during their happy hour sessions. All drinks are half price between Monday through Thursday from opening until closing time! Their kitchen does not close either, so you can enjoy some delicious food while listening or watching your favorite band perform too.
- Rhino Room can also be located along Northbourne Avenue, where it stands opposite City Walk Hotel. This venue can fit many patrons with its two floors which can accommodate 200 guests on each floor or combine both into a huge 400 person rave!
- The Phoenix Pub – This cozy pub is a great place to go for live music, with two bands every night. Entry can be as cheap as $12 or accessible during the daytime. It can get quite crowded, but this only adds to the atmosphere!
