Architectural designers are responsible for creating practical and functional spaces. They must have a good knowledge of engineering, mathematics, science, art and technology. They must understand how the structures work, the characteristics of the materials, and other related things. The effectiveness of an architectural design depends on the utility and beauty of the building. The job involves designing structural, plumbing, electrical, architectural and mechanical layouts. A CAD program is used for this purpose. Individuals who have completed an architectural CAD training can handle this job properly and professionally.

Drafting

Drawing precise drawings is the first step of any architectural design. Drafting or technical drawing is now done using tools like a CAD program. It is similar to using the T-squares and parallel bars to create the designs manually but in this case the designs are made using a computer program. The architectural drafting part of this course is the digital equivalent of analog designing methods. Students learn how to draw precise lines, forms and shapes.

CAD Program Training

After learning the basic drafting techniques, the students learn to use other features of a CAD program. These features help achieve the desired drafting and architectural results. They learn to draw and modify shapes, forms and objects. They can work on dimensional techniques using tables, external references and attributes. Individuals trained in this program can work not only in the architecture field but also in engineering, product designing, manufacturing and construction industries.

Transforming Drawings into 3D Presentations

This is the third part of the course where students learn how to transform simple drawings into presentable 3D designs that impress the client’s. This task is performed using the same intuitive CAD program used for drafting. The CAD operator designs the walls, floors, roofs and other parts of the building. The realistic models can be prepared using various tools and some additional programs. It makes the project believable and ready for presentation to the clients.

The architectural CAD training prepares a person to create 3D models of buildings and other structures from scratch. 2D images can be converted into 3D models. The students learn to model different types of doors, windows, roofs, staircases and surrounding terrains. Architectural designers prepare layouts, conceptual elements, systems and components for all parts of the house. The entire drawing and object models are prepared in the CAD software. This data is used by the engineers and contractors to build the final building. There are good employment opportunities for the students trained in architectural CAD. Even the entry level salary can be high for the people with training in this program.
